Quinta São José
A experiência realiza-se na nossa quinta chamada “Quinta São José “, que localiza-se na Vila de Rabo de Peixe, cidade da Ribeira Grande.
Esta atividade é composta por duas partes. A primeira consiste na visita à exploração de caprinos de leite “Caprinos Quinta São José”, onde os hóspedes interagem com todos os animais, cuidam dos cabritos oferecendo-lhes um biberão de leite, aprendem todo o maneio alimentar e reprodutivo, entendem o comportamento caprino e finalmente é-lhes permitido ordenhar manualmente algumas das nossas produtoras. O leite retirado nesta ordenha, será incluído no pequeno-almoço que se segue.
A segunda parte da experiência é a refeição, ou seja, o pequeno-almoço. Aqui é oferecido diversos tipos de pães (pão rústico, bolo da sertã e bolo lêvedo), diversos tipos de doces caseiros, diferentes tipos de queijos produzidos com o leite da exploração, uma iguaria micaelense chamada Pé de Torresmo, mel produzido na Quinta (Apiário Quinta São José), chá, café e fruta (banana e/ou ananás).
Todo o pequeno-almoço é contemplado por um diálogo muito interessante, aconchegante e épico.

Quinta São José
This activity takes place at our farm called “Quinta São José”, which is located in the village of Rabo de Peixe, in the city of Ribeira Grande.
Your experience is made up of two parts. The first consists of a visit to the goat farm “Caprinos Quinta São José”, where guests interact with all the animals, take care of the kids (baby goats ) by offering them a bottle of milk, learn all about feeding, reproductive management and understand goat behaviour. Finally our guests are encouraged to hand-milk some of our producers.
The product pulled from this milking will be included in the breakfast that follows.
The second part of the experience is the meal, i.e. breakfast.
Assorted local and regional breads are offered (rustic bread, bolo da sertã and bolo yeast), several types of homemade sweets, different types of cheeses produced with the farm’s milk, a delicacy from São Miguel called Pé de Torresmo, honey produced on the farm (Apiário Quinta São José), tea, coffee and fruit (banana and/or pineapple).
The entire breakfast is shared with opportunities for warm and friendly conversations what that makes this experience in a unique moment of magic!

"This is an absolute MUST-do while in São Miguel! The experience definitely exceeded our expectations! Ricardo was an incredible host! He provided quite a bit of training and insight into the farm. We met the goats (and other animals), even learnt how to milk the goats, and tasted fresh goat's milk! After we had an amazing breakfast with his artisan cheese! Don't think, just do!"

"For us, breakfast was a special experience. Ricardo is an excellent host. You immediately realise that he does what he does with all his heart. Raising and looking after the goats (each goat really does have its own name!), preparing breakfast with selected ingredients or choosing them after a long selection process and using them only for guests after the whole family has given the OK! " was such a fun experience! I absolutely loved meeting and holding the goats, not to mention the milk! I learnt a lot about the farm and how the goats are managed. The farm seems to make absolutely everything, from goat's milk/cheese to honey and jam, all of which we were able to try at breakfast. Breakfast was more of a late breakfast/early lunch, as it was after touring the farm and exploring the goats, but wow, was it delicious"
